Lifestyle, Health and Risk Behaviour Among Children and Youth

Coordinators: Knut-Inge Klepp , Professor, Department of Nutrition, Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo and. Per Egil Mjaavatn , Researcher, Department of Education at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU)

This group will focus on health risk due to life style related behaviour, social insecurity and social injustice. Global trends in child and youth life styles will be examined. Four main sub-topics have been identified and will be addressed by invited, leading researchers in their fields:

Theoretical clarification and implications of the concepts lifestyle and risk behaviour

         Substance use and tobacco

         Sexuality and HIV/AIDS

         Nutrition and physical activity

An overall aim is to identify “best practices” when it comes to promoting healthy life styles for children and young people.

The group will solicit results from a wide range of countries to be presented at the conference, and abstracts submitted for paper and poster presentations at the thematic sessions are highly encouraged.

Abstracts can be submitted by following the web-procedures.
