Videointerviews from Childhoods 2005 International Conference in Oslo 

During Childhoods 2005 we made video interviews with some of the contributors to the conference.

Martha Santos Pais is the Director of UNICEF Innocenti Research Centre, Florence, Italy. She is being interviewed by Trond Waage, project leader at the Department of Special Needs Education, University of Oslo. They discuss implementation of the UN-convention on the Rights of the Child.

Adriana Bertet had an artistic contribution to the conference. She is being interviewed by Therese Dalsgaard Rørvik from the Arts Council of Norway. They discuss child participation in community art projects.

Yaroslav Oreshkin (17) was part of the "Life before 18" - the youth expert group. He is in Volgograd, Russia part of a UNICEF youth project fighting against drug abuse. He is being interviewed by Marit Sanner, director of The Transformation Factory, Norway. They discuss his experiences of being a youth in the conference and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Brandon DM Allwood (16) was part of "Life before 18" - the youth expert group. He is in Jamaica active fighting for children's rights and has been nominated for the Prime Minister's Youth Awards for Excellence in Journalism and Leadership. He is being interviewed by Marit Sanner, director of The Transformation Factory, Norway. They discuss his experiences of being a youth in the conference and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

David Buckingham is Professor of Education at the Institute of Education, University of London and Director of Centre for the Study of Children, Youth and Media. He is being interviewed by Randi Wærdahl, Post doctoral fellow, Department of Sociology and Human Geography, University of Oslo. They discuss Children and Consumer Culture.
